"Second Chance" tells the story of John Mowatt, a Stevens Johnson Syndrome survivor. After having emergency surgery because of an aortic dissection, John was released from the hospital with strange rashes. His had lost 50 pounds and his physical condition worsened each day, his skin started falling off in great sheets and he was losing his eyesight. He had developed Stevens Johnson Syndrome and his body was in a toxic shock as a reaction to the combination of too many prescription drugs. John was admitted to the Grossman Burn Center and with his strong will survived a disease most people die from. After his recovery John took the biggest battle: he went to court against the pharmaceutical companies that nearly killed him….
